Kim Doyoung simply known as Doyoung/ Dobby is a 19-year-old Korean kpop artist signed under YG entertainment. He is a member of the group TREASURE. Doyoung is the lead dancer and vocalist of the group. He is known for his charismatic energy and fatal facial expressions during his stage performances.

Pre-debut Doyoung
Before joining YG entertainment as a trainee, Kim Doyoung used to go to the dance academy. He went to same dance academy as his present team member, Junkyu. Then later he auditioned for YG in 2015.
Doyoung auditioned for the agency when he was only 11 years old. He sang Taeyang’s song “Eyes, Nose and Lips” during the auditioned and passed the audition while he was in 3rd grade. Doyoung trained in YG for a long time along with other teammates Yedam and Junkyu. He was still a child when he passed the audition and joined the agency as a trainee but he didn’t give up on his studies. Young Doyoung continued going to his school and doing his vocal and dance lesson as well.
Before coming into showbiz’s spotlight, Doyoung made his first appearance in the 2017 survival program stray kids. He appeared in the show as YG entertainment’s trainee along with his other fellow member to compete against JYP entertainment’s trainee. In the episode, he was the youngest member to compete.
YG TREASURE BOX, MAGNUM, TREASURE 13
Doyoung was introduced in YG entertainment’s survival show TREASURE BOX back in 2018. Although he was not in the first lineup of the group TREASURE at the end of the show, later in 2019 YG Entertainment announced the formation of a new group called MAGNUM from the other participants of the show other than the first member to be announced for the group TREASURE. Doyoung was first announced as a member of unit MAGNUM. The entertainment label announced the promotion of both groups TREASURE and MAGNUM as TREASURE 13 but due to outrageous scandals and critics, YG postponed the debut of the group.
On 2020 January 6th, YG Entertainment released a new notice on their official website regarding the formation of 12 member boy group from both group TREASURE and MAGNUM who would debut as one group TREASURE. After the notice, the entertainment label started to post different content about the group like TMI episodes, Treasure maps etc. on their official sites. On 30th January 2020, the group released the performance video for their pre-debut track “Going Crazy”.
Debut with TREASURE: Kim Doyoung
Doyoung officially made his debut on August 7, 2020, with other TREASURE members. He debuted as the lead dancer and vocalist of the group.
TREASURE debuted with their single album THE FIRST STEP: CHAPTER ONE. TREASURE released two more single albums in 2020, THE FIRST STEP: CHAPTER TWO and THE FIRST STEP: CHAPTER THREE on the 18th of September and the 6th of November respectively. On 2021 January 11, TREASURE’s first full studio album “THE FIRST STEP: TREASURE EFFECT” was released. TREASURE also released the Japanese digital single “Beautiful” on 14 February which was previously released on January 22 as the ending theme song for the anime black clover. On March 31st, 2021 the group also released the Japanese version of their first full album. The group released a mini album THE SECOND STEP: CHAPTER ONE on 15 February 2022.
