Choi Hyun Suk is a 23 year old South Korean rapper/songwriter signed under YG entertainment label. Choi Hyunsuk goes by his stage name Hyunsuk as a member of the group TREASURE in kpop industry. He is the oldest member and one of the leaders of the group.

MIXNINE and YG TREASURE BOX
Before officially debuting as a leader of TREASURE, Hyunsuk participated in two survival program. The first ever show he participated was MIXNINE back in 2017, where 170 contestants in total participated in the show. MIXNINE is a survival reality show produced by JTBC and YG ENTERTAINMENT. There were 72 males and 98 female contestants competing with each other to make place in the final debuting group. Either 9 male or 9 female would be able to make in the final debut group where the male group won the show. Hyunsuk ranked 5th in the final episode becoming the member of the debuting group but the debut was cancelled as the agencies didn’t agree with the contract.
In 2018, Hyunsuk participated in YG’s new survival program YG TREASURE BOX. He was announced as the seventh member of the group TREASURE on 25th of January, 2019.
Later in 2019 YG entertainment announced the formation of new group called MAGNUM from the other 6 participants of the show other than the first 7 members to be announced for the group TREASURE. The entertainment label announced to debut the both group TREASURE and MAGNUM as TREASURE 13 before they promote separately in two groups, but due to outrageous scandals surfacing the internet, YG postponed the debut of the group.
On 2020 January 6th, YG entertainment released a new notice on their official website regarding the formation of 12 member boy group from the both group TREASURE and MAGNUM who would debut as one group TREASURE. After the notice, the entertainment label started to post different contents of the group like TMI episodes, Treasure map etc. on their official sites. On 30th January 2020, the group released the performance video for their pre-debut track “Going Crazy”.
Debut as TREASURE Leader Rapper and Songwriter
Choi Hyun Suk officially made his debut with stage name Hyunsuk on August 7, 2020. He debuted as lead rapper and one of the leaders of TREASURE along with Jihoon.
TREASURE debuted with their single album THE FIRST STEP: CHAPTER ONE. TREASURE released two more single albums on 2020, THE FIRST STEP: CHAPTER TWO and THE FIRST STEP: CHAPTER THREE on 18th of September and 6th of November respectively. On 2021 January 11, TREASURE released their first full studio album “THE FIRST STEP: TREASURE EFFECT”. TREASURE also released Japanese digital single “Beautiful” on 14 February which was previously released on January 22 as the ending theme song for anime black clover. On March 31st 2021 the group also released the Japanese version of their first full album. The group released a mini album THE SECOND STEP: CHAPTER ONE on 15 February 2022.
Hyunsuk was featured and credited as songwriter in Lee Hi’s song “1, 2” even before making debut in TREASURE. Hyunsuk has been participating writing lyrics to almost every TREASURE song since debut. He basically writes his own lyrics for his rap part in the song. Besides writing, Hyunsuk also composes song. He has been credited in song writing as well as composing in four of the song in their latest EP THE SECOND STEP: CHAPTER ONE.
